This week's anime is Death Note, one of all time favorite that I feel that must be mentioned at some point because I feel its that amazing.

On the way home a young japanese genius, Light Yagami, came across a Death Note, the notebook of a Soul Reaper. The Death Note grants the user the power to kill anyone just by writing the name of the person you wish to kill on it. Tired of his daily life and the injustice he sees around the world, Light, seeks to create a New World where he is its God through the use of the Death Note. As Light begins making way for this New World, another genius, L , stands on his way who believes Light is nothing but another murderer. This anime is a must see if you truly love the thrill that you get from suspenseful scenes and a story where you can't decide who to root for, the main character or the character who works to foil his plans.

  3. I've only seen the first 12 episodes but it was great. I heard like a year ago that Hollywood wanted to make a movie but I haven't heard anything since. I don't know if they're still interested or if it was even just a rumor.

    1. I've heard about it as well. I head a director was found but after not much information has been given. I hope that they do make it since I'm always up for anything that helps make anime popular in America like it is in Japan.

  4. If they're going to make a movie, it better not suck like the Dragon Ball one.

    1. I agree that movie was really bad. I hope they find some good actors that fit the characters and find an interesting way to portray the story like they did in Japanese movie version which wasn't that bad. It would be a shame if they ruin another good anime.

  5. I have seen both Japanese movies on this and while interesting that fell short of capturing the beauty and intricacies of the anime which, for me, begs the question, why do we need a live action movie of this or any other anime series when the series are so damn good already? Can they really make a movie that is better than the series, my answer is no if only for the reason that how do you put 37 episodes worth of information, character and plot development into a 2 and a half hour movie?

Fun Fact, the People's Republic of China banned Death Note.

  6. I loved the first half of the show up until L's untimely departure. After that I pretty much felt that the rest of the characters went stale. Really loved the art style it was nicely done. Claymore's artstyle reminds me of Death Notes. As for a movie they did make one in Japan I think http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_Note_(film) and I doubt they plan on doing an American version anytime soon.
