School Rumble

After a long day, all you probably want to is just kick back and relax. This week's anime is big in the comedy romance department that in the end of the episode you'll probably would've laugh quite a few times.

        The story revolves around two second year high school students who are to shy to profess their loves to the one they love. One of them is Tsukamoto Tenma, she is in love with her classmate Karasuma Ooji. Each time she makes the attempt to confess how she feels, something crazy happens and it always end up having her being unable to tell him how she feels. The we have the school delinquent, Harima Kenji who is in love with Tenma. Having the same luck as Tenma in the romantic department  both of them end always end up in some comical situation.
     If you enjoy watching comedies with a bit of romance in the mix then this anime is most likely for you. There isn't an episode where you will be faced with boredom. Unlike most comedies this anime does seem to have a plot which makes it easier to follow along and enjoyable.

Usagi Drop

This week's anime is Usagi Drop. I feel once a while its nice to watch an anime with story that brings you down back down to earth and see how reality is actually is. So I hope you enjoy this one.

     While attending his grandfather's funeral, Kawachi, Daikichi, encounters this unknown and quiet girl while walking around his grandfather's house. Daikichi discovers that she is the illegitimate daughter of his late grandfather whose mother is nowhere to be found is unknown to everyone. Fearing the shame and the obligation of bringing up this girl up, Daikichi's family become unwilling to take her in their care. Angry at his families reaction and seeing how the little girl named Rin would be left alone, Daikichi ultimately decides to take in Rin. The story follows on how Daikichi develops into a proper guardian for Rin while balancing it with both his work and love life.
     If you can deal with the idea of not having this epic battles scenes or this evil dark force that the main character has to fight throughout the anime then this anime might be for you. This is a slice of life anime where the main character instead of fighting an evil force is fighting the hardships that we all know that life can present to an individual and see how he develops as a person. In the end of the anime you get some perspective of some nice life lessons and even some insight what it means to be a parent.

Ghost Hunt

This week anime is Ghost Hunt. In my opinion its kinda hard to find a good horror anime where you can truly enjoy the story and get a nice thrill out of it. Ghost hunt is one of those rare finds.

     This anime follows Taniyama Mai, a girl who loves telling enjoying ghost stories with her friends. She attends a school that turns out having an abandoned building which gives ground for many ghost stories  about it. One day while telling ghost stories with her friends, Mai and her friends are interrupted by strange guy. This guy turns out to be Shibuya Kazuya, the 17 year-old president of the Shibuya Psychic Research Company. He was brought in by the principal to investigate the old abandoned building. The day after that while going to school Mai goes into the abandoned school building. While inside she sees a weird camera and while examined it she gets startled by Kazuya's assistant and ends up breaking the camera. Kazuya ends up forcing Mai to work for him in order for her to repay the broken camera. Mai ends up entering the paranormal world and begins to see whats ghost hunting really is.
     If you enjoy the adrenaline rush you get from horror stories then this anime will be very enjoyable to you. Even when the anime is not scaring you with its scary scenes it has a nice throughout plot that you won't have the chance to getting bored. While watching the anime during the night so the maximum potential of the anime can be brought out, for some it might be better watching it during the day to avoid having trouble sleeping at night.

Rurouni Kenshin

Back to the classics this week. This week's anime Rurouni Kenshin, is a one of the greatest anime to be released in the 90s.

The story follows Himura Kenshin, a peaceful wandering swordsmen, during the Meiji era. Kenshin during his travels meets a female kendo master, Kaoru Kamiya, who is in trouble at the time with a person claiming to be the legendary assassin, Hitokiri Battosai. Kenshin saves Kaoru and it revealed that he is the true Hitokiri Battosai and the man claiming to be him is a fake. Kaoru, after learning who Kenshin is welcomes him to her dojo, where the story unfolds revealing Kenshin's dark past. Kenshin faces old and new enemies but also makes new friendships during the story. This story has tons of action and a well planned plot that its a pretty hard to not like the anime. If you enjoy sword fights and some light comedy once a while then this anime is for you.

Kimi ni Todoke

This week's anime is one of my personal favorites. I'm a sucker for a cute romantic story which pretty much Kimi ni Todoke is.

Clannad

This week's anime is not the greatest anime out there but knows how to hit its viewers right in the heart and make it hard not to cry and be sad as the story progresses.

The story follows Okazaki Tomoya, a bored youth, who skips with the idea that he won't amount to much so what is the point of trying. In the way to school Tomoya meets a quiet girl named Furikawa Nagisa. He finds out due to her illness she was held back a year and now she is hoping to revive the drama club. Tomoya eventually decides to help Nagisa revive the club and the story begins to unfold. As the story unfolds Tomoya begins to see that life isn't as dull as he once thought as four other girls enter his life. When you need a nice break of other animes that are filled with comedy and action and need a unique anime with deep story then the story of Clannad is right for you. It has a way to get you to see how hard life can be and bring you down to earth and get you really thinking.

DragonBall

This week's anime is a classic that I've mentioned before, Dragonball. Is an old favorite of mine that reminds me of my childhood days that I truly enjoyed every single moment I watched it.

In a world filled with wide variety of strange people and creatures a Bulma is on a journey to collect all of the seven magical Dragonballs. These magical Dragonballs have the power to grant the person who collects all seven any wish they want. On the journey of collecting the Dragonballs, Bulma comes across a weird boy named Goku, the owner of the four star Dragonball. Together, they continue on the journey of collecting the Dragonballs while Goku fights any one who comes as off as a foe as he strives to become the strongest warrior in the universe. Dragonball is masterpiece that pathway to the popular theme of caring for ones friends and never giving up in today's anime. With an easy going main character that you can't help but love and never ending adventurous plot this classic anime is a must see.

Death Note

This week's anime is Death Note, one of all time favorite that I feel that must be mentioned at some point because I feel its that amazing.

On the way home a young japanese genius, Light Yagami, came across a Death Note, the notebook of a Soul Reaper. The Death Note grants the user the power to kill anyone just by writing the name of the person you wish to kill on it. Tired of his daily life and the injustice he sees around the world, Light, seeks to create a New World where he is its God through the use of the Death Note. As Light begins making way for this New World, another genius, L , stands on his way who believes Light is nothing but another murderer. This anime is a must see if you truly love the thrill that you get from suspenseful scenes and a story where you can't decide who to root for, the main character or the character who works to foil his plans.

FMA: Brotherhood

This week's anime is Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, another personal favorite of mines, that I easily fell in love with after the few first episodes.

In a world where alchemy exists, people through the use of transmutation circles can manipulate and transform objects into other objects. There is one law that alchemist must follow,the law of equivalence exchange, that states to obtain something you must sacrifice something of the same value. The story follows the two Elric Brothers, who after a failed attempt to resurrect their dead mother through alchemy, seek the Philosopher's Stone because both had to pay a heavy price after breaking such taboo in the alchemy world. Edward Elric, the Full Metal Alchemist, wants to use the Philosopher's Stone to recover his little brother's body whose body was lost in the failed resurrection of his mother and the limbs he lost to attach his brother soul to a suit of armor after his brother lost his body. If you love alchemy, never ending action, and a tragic story that you can't help but cheer on for the success of the main characters, then you will fall in love with this anime.

Personal Favorite Anime

After careful thought I've decided that I should have really started by sharing my favorite anime of all time, Code Geass, which I'll recommending this week.

This anime follows the story of a young banished prince, named Lelouch in an era where the Britannia Empire begins its conquest of the world through its large mechas, the Knightmare Frames. Lelouch bent on getting revenge against his father, the Emperor of Britannia, receives the power of the kings, Geass, from a strange girl named C.C.. With this power Lelouch begins his vengeance against the Britannian Empire. If you enjoy fights between large robots, a story with many interweaving plots, and a main character that you can't help but love then I suggest watching this anime.

First Recommendation

It was a hard decision of what anime to start with but in the end I decided why not start with the anime that it start my anime addiction, Naruto.

Naruto

This anime follows the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a boy aiming to become Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village. As his own fellow village detest the site of him as he became the host of the beast that took the lives of many villagers when it went amok on the village, Naruto strives to become the most revered ninja, the Hokage, to gain a place in the village. If you enjoy a story of friendship, ninjas, and tons of fighting scenes then this anime is for you.
