First Recommendation

It was a hard decision of what anime to start with but in the end I decided why not start with the anime that it start my anime addiction, Naruto.

Naruto
This anime follows the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a boy aiming to become Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village. As his own fellow village detest the site of him as he became the host of the beast that took the lives of many villagers when it went amok on the village, Naruto strives to become the most revered ninja, the Hokage, to gain a place in the village. If you enjoy a story of friendship, ninjas, and tons of fighting scenes then this anime is for you.

  1. Really? I tried watching this series and just could not stand it. Granted I was watching the dubbed but by the end of the episode I wanted them all dead.

Have to disagree with this as your first choice if you are trying to introduce others into anime.

    1. Yes, I agree I should of began with an anime that is more neutral on what type of audience its aiming for. This anime is truly aimed for young boys and adolescents.

  2. My long standing anime that's still airing right now is One Piece. I remember watching that on Saturday morning for a few seasons before the pulled it.

It's a good choice, but has a slight annoying side to it.

    1. Yes, I agree that One Piece is a great anime. I just love how Luffy has this unyielding loyalty and faith in his nakamas

  3. I'm kinda surprised there are some negative comments here. Naruto is quite possibly the most popular anime in the world. Even though I'm not a huge fan and have only seen a couple dozen episodes, I'll still watch it if I happen to catch it. Good first pick.

  4. I think it is popular for the same reason Bleach and Inuyashu are, they are some of the few animes Americans have been exposed to and because of that many don't take anime as a serious media.

FLCL, Nana, Paranoid Agent, Lovely Complex, Toradora, Sankerea, Sword Art Online, Black Rock Shooter, Full Metal Alchemist, Clannad, Death Note, oh I can go on and on and still not scratch the surface. Point being they deal with more adult subject matter and situations. Anyway just my personal opinion and I am enjoying your blog.

  5. Not gonna lie, I disliked this anime. I find the main characters very obnoxious and the supposed "climax" of this series to be predictable and disappointing. And continuing down the line, it's just filler after filler. And if this anime is about ninjas, then why are the ninjas incredibly flashy in their attacks and rely so little on stealth? They got it all mixed up.

Well, this wouldn't be the first Shonen Jump series to annoy me and it certainly wouldn't be the last.
